I think the Men In Black film will go down as one of the biggest flops of the year. The trailer looks awful.

Watched 'An old man and a gun' true story and pretty good especially if you like Robert Redford too, it was his last acting role.
Finally watched Girl on a train and thought it was excellent.

Saw Kursk tonight. Great film, spoilt only by my knowing how it ended.

Saw Instant Family after the football. Really enjoyed it, and not just for the girl in it (who is 17 so technically legal).

Going to make my annual trip to the cinema tomorrow. Stan & Ollie at the Tivoli in Bath (looks very plush). Massive L&H fan so a must see for me.
Looking at that list I'm not sure there's much there that will drag me back. Most films seem to be made for kids, or kidults these days.

Stan & Ollie was absolutely SUPERB. swt
I think you will benefit from the film the most if you are familiar with Laurel & Hardy's work.
John C. Reilly and Steve Coogan are both amazing throughout.
Great film. It Certainly was. *scratches head*.

I wanted to go and see The Upside this weekend but couldn't make it. Looking at this weekend its only on at 20:50 in my usual so having a young baby rules that out. Guessing the film is shit if they've reduced the showings already.

Got round to seeing Darkest Hour. Gary Oldman puts in a tremendous performance as Churchill (the Prime Minister not the dog). One of the best acting performances I've seen.

I was having a discussion with someone who is a proper horror movie geek about how I don't really like horror films. I think they took it as a challenge and made me watch a few.
A couple of them were real eye-openers and I wondered how they had made it through the censor, namely The House That Jack Built (which I saw at Picturehouse Central and several people walked out in disgust) and a film that has become kind of a rite of passage for a horror fan called A Serbian Film.
I'm not going to spoil them for you but watch them with your other halves this Friday night. They'll thank you for it.
